About the Role
Council’s Engineering Services Department is seeking to fill the position of Waste Management Centre Operator.
You will generally work in a small team undertaking the full range of duties associated with the operation of the Bathurst Waste Management Centre and other duties associated with solid waste collection. This will include working in the gatehouse, operating a skid steer loader, wheel loader, compactor, tip truck, and other duties as required. Customer service and computer operated cash handling skills are essential.
Key requirements:
- Driver's Licence - Class HR
- Certificate of Competency and experience in operating Front End Loader and Skid Steer loader
- Proven experience in operating tipping trucks and using compaction equipment
- Knowledge of waste management procedures
- Working knowledge of WHS procedures
- Experience in dealing with difficult customers to reach successful outcomes
- Ability to operate computer operated cash handling systems.
