Salary:  $870.00 -  $914.04 + $15.40 industry allowance per week + super

Position Status: Permanent full time

Hours of work: 38 hour week with a RDO every third week

Closing:  Friday, 23 March 2018 at 4pm

About the Role

Love the great outdoors? Our Finance section is looking for a meter reader for our Water Billing section who likes walking, has exceptional customer service skills and doesn’t mind the occasional bit of bad weather (or a brisk Bathurst winter morning!).

The position needs to provide accurate and timely meter reads utilising a hand held device to enter the data, so you will need a good eye for detail. You will be liaising with Council’s customers at their premises and a polite, professional manner is essential.

You will receive on the job training and support from our team who take great pride in delivering quality work and great customer service. So if you love working outdoors, are flexible, reliable and enjoy interacting with people then this job could be for you.

 

Key requirements:  
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Accuracy with data input
  • Accuracy and neatness in written work
  • Ability to identify faults and irregularities with water meter connections
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs to meters
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to supervise a small team and coordinate workload
  • Ability to interpret maps and provide directions
  • Basic understanding of water reticulation systems
