Hours of work: 35 hour week with RDO every third week

About the Role

Council is seeking to employ a full time Development Control Planner within the Environmental, Planning & Building Services Department. The position is a parental leave contract for 12 months with potential for further extension.

An attractive salary between $1,306.80 and $1,372.96 per week will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending upon qualifications and experience. This position is based on 35 hours per week with an RDO every three weeks.

The successful applicant should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and be able to provide advice in a wide range of environmental and compliance matters.

The position is predominantly responsible for assessing a wide range of Development Applications and providing advice to the public on development planning related matters. The position provides an opportunity to deal with a wide range of issues including residential development, subdivisions in rural and urban areas, heritage & industrial and commercial development.

Candidates require a Bachelor Degree in Town Planning (or a related field). Applicants nearing completion are encouraged to apply. A current class C motor vehicle driver’s licence is required.
