Hours of work: 35hr week with a RDO every third week

About the Role
Bathurst Regional Council is seeking a Civil Design and Project Engineer to assist with the implementation of an extensive capital works program. The position principally involves the design and investigation of special projects; contract development and management; and managing a team responsible for traffic engineering, floodplain management and the maintenance of public buildings.
The Civil Design and Project Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of a number of concurrent projects within the Engineering Services Section, in a friendly team working environment.
The successful candidate will possess a Degree in Engineering, will have relevant Project Management experience, and shall be familiar with the tendering and contract management process.
Key requirements:
- Manage the design and investigation of Council's building and civil works using project management / contract management techniques to ensure an effective and efficient project implementation
- Provide an effective capability for the investigation, survey, design, supervision, and any other duties necessary for the execution of projects within the Engineering Services Department, in co-operation with other Staff
- Ensure that the infrastructure servicing the Bathurst region continues to meet the needs of the public, commensurate with development, with any necessary improvements being implemented within predetermined constraints
