Position Status: Permanent full time

Hours of work: 35 hour week with a RDO every third week

About the Role

Bathurst Regional Council is looking for an enthusiastic person to assist in the day to day administration of our Information Technology section.

This role involves providing administration support to the section and includes duties such as…

  • Day to day administrative assistance to the Manager Information Services and the team
  • The creation of documentation and development of training material
  • Using Council’s financial system to ensure orders are created and receipted
  • Ensuring that equipment and software is registered in Council’s IT asset system
  • Backing up the “Helpdesk staff” when they are away.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of a library of documentation relating to the processes and procedures of Council’s Information Services section. This will require you to work with staff members in Information Services to create the required documents.

You would be responsible for developing, maintaining and delivering training material to ensure that staff at Bathurst Regional Council are kept up to date with the use of software and equipment.

You will work closely with all members of the team but particularly the Manager Information Services and the Technology Support Analyst who you will ultimately provide backup to during times of their absence.

 

Key requirements:  
    • Provide effective and prompt administrative and organisational assistance to the Information Services Section
    • Be sensitive to the needs of Bathurst Regional Council staff and handle issues promptly and courteously
    • Be a people person and enjoy assisting others
    • Have the desire and commitment to work as part of a team
    • Be able to work independently within areas of responsibility
    • Maintain ICT asset register to ensure accurate documentation of current assets
    • Maintain Information services documentation library in an up to date and accurate manner
    • Develop Information Services newsletters or other more innovative forms of communication, so as to disseminate ICT related information to our internal customers on a regular basis
    • Backup & Support the "Technology Support Analyst" during times of absence
    • Assist the Senior Application Analyst in the maintenance of Council's software licensing register
    • Develop training Calendar and schedule regular training sessions for our internal customers
    • Deliver training sessions to our internal customers using internally and externally developed training material.
