Hours of work: 30 hour week, Tuesday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

About the Role

Bathurst Family Day Care is an ‘Exceeding’ rate service providing quality education and care to children in registered homes across Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon areas. Bathurst Family Day Care comes under Council’s Cultural & Community Services section.

Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Child Development Officer.

The role will provide effective support to the Family Day Care Coordinator to ensure the provision of high quality child care within the Bathurst Family Day Care Service.

The Child Development Officer is a role requiring a self-motivated individual with initiative, experience and ability to provide professional support to educators and the service.

The Key requirements will include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct home visits to monitor environments, activities and educational programs to ensure high quality which reflects regulations, scheme policies, procedures and National standards,
  • Monitoring activities and evaluation of educational programs suitable to the needs of the children aged 0-5years and school age.
  • Provide professional advice and support to Educators, children and families to ensure secure, safe and stimulation environment.
  • Manage relationships with range of individuals professionally as Councils Code of Conduct and Values
  • Support the provision of weekly play sessions for educators and children
  • Productively contribute to the outcomes of the team and the service goals
