Salary:  up to $94,382 per annum + super + leaseback vehicle

Position Status: Permanent full time

Hours of work: 35 hour week with a RDO every third week

About the Role

 

Do you have the passion, motivation, qualifications and experience to effectively and efficiently manage the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery to the highest modern standard and practice? Can you identify and resolve issues facing regional art practice in NSW to deliver professional and exceptional cultural experiences? If so, the position of Bathurst Regional Art Gallery Director is for you.

Council is seeking an innovative professional who, ideally, has extensive experience in a cultural environment and the ability to lead and motivate staff to deliver the Bathurst Region A Cultural Vision 2036 objectives for the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery. The successful candidate will establish and grow partnerships and networks both internally and externally to the organisation.

The position reports directly to the Director Cultural & Community Services.

 

Key requirements:  
  • To effectively and efficiently manage the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery consistent with the vision of achieving the objective of being a “Premier Inland Centre of Culture and Creativity” as outlined in the Bathurst Region a Cultural Vision 2036.
  • To collect, conserve and display visual arts heritage by ensuring the development of an appropriate collection.
  • To maximise enjoyment and understanding of the visual arts for practising artists, the community and visitors to the region through maintaining and supporting the development of a gallery of the highest modern standard and practice.
  • To develop and maintain partners and stakeholders in the delivery of objectives of the Cultural Vision 2036.
