Position Status: Permanent full time

Hours of work: 35 hour week with a RDO every third week

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HR Advisor to join our team and provide HR support and advice to allocated internal business units spanning across all of Council's functions.  

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large multi-faceted organisation and showcase your generalist HR skills, experience and personal capabilities.  Working alongside one other HR Advisor and reporting directly to the Manager Human Resources, you will be a team player with a 'can-do' attitude who is approachable, innovative and has the ability to work in a fast paced and diverse environment.  You will manage the employee life cycle and provide end to end service around core people functions (recruitment and inductions, learning and development, employee engagement, succession planning, performance management, employee relations/IR queries, workers compensation, exits, metrics and surveys).

Some of the key requirements include:  

  • extensive generalist HR knowledge and experience including solid understanding of legislation and HR guidelines.
  • demonstrated capacity to build successful business relationships and networks at all levels of the organisation.
  • capability to support and educate staff with regards to HR systems, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations and handle conflict resolution with satisfactory results.
  • Provide workers compensation and return to work services.
  • Research and reporting on HR metrics.
  • Provide assistance to the Manager HR and participate in project teams as required.
